CMA Foundational Studies Program
(leading to the CMA CERTIFICATE OF FOUNDATIONAL STUDIES IN ACCOUNTING)

The CMA Foundational Studies Program is a part-time, pre-professional course (also known as the CMA Accelerated Program) designed for university graduates as a precursor to the CMA Entrance Exam and as preparation for their CMA professional studies.

The CMA Foundational Studies Program focuses on six intermediate and advanced topics in accounting. It also provides an overview (or review) for six relevant management topics.

This is the usual first step for the majority of applicants on their path to becoming a CMA, particularly those persons not specializing in accounting during their university studies.
The fast-paced, eight-month program is conveniently packaged to allow for total coverage of the foundational requirements necessary for the remainder of the CMA path.

Intermediate and advanced topics:

Select management topics:

• Intermediate financial accounting
• Intermediate management accounting
• Advanced financial accounting
• Advanced management accounting
• Corporate finance
• Taxation
• Internal control

• Information technology

Offered in Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad, as well as via distance learning, all versions culminate with the awarding of the CMA Certificate in Foundational Studies in Accounting.

In Trinidad, this program also leads to the awarding of a Diploma in Accounting from the University of the West Indies.

Note that four introductory university topics are required prerequisites for entry into the program, as follows:
